Stress Reduction

So . .

I wasn't able to go to the actual baseball game but I did get an extension for my paper so I decided that I at least could spend a couple hours relaxing in front of the tube with friends.

It was such a beautiful game. Johnny D was heckled continually, even when he wasn't on the plate! Big Papi pulled through for us at the end. Go Papi!! and we won the game! Yankees take that!

At some point I pulled out my new camera and started capturing candids:

Exhibit A:

However, I may not have a place
to stay after I post this picture;)

I am very slowly but surely learning about baseball with the help of my roommates and friends. I'll get the gist of this game yet! My highest goal is to attain the "game stare," in which a person is so transfixed with the game that everything else fades away:

Nothing can distract this
man from his game!

At the 7th inning stretch the friendly baseball cake was brought out! Laurie used some of the manipulative therapeutic strategies I had taught her to get this cake for only $4.00!! What a deal. She did me proud ;)

I did a pretty good, but unconventional job of cutting it ;) Next time I think I will carve out an antelope taking a sip of water from a pond. I can do it! Look at my amazing cutting skills!:

The game was a great source of stress reduction but the events off the field were even more conducive to assisting me relax. At some point people started tooting on beer bottles. Someone then called in the midst of the noise and our tooting was passed off as tug boats at a dock. However, even after the phone call, the tooting persisted. It was somewhat silly and fantastically fun! I am lucky to have such a worthy crew to initiate me into the world of baseball!

Oh and did I mention WE WON!!!!

Now on to write my last paper- Ugh!
